Rev. Trés Ward, Lead Pastor

Pastor Trés became Lead Pastor of Winston Salem First Pentecostal Holiness Church in August of 2024. Trés began preaching at twelve years old and has been preaching ever since. Pastor Trés is passionate about preaching with a commitment to the Bible, theological depth, practical teaching, and a good sense of humor. His mission is to help people move closer to God by better understanding Scripture and experiencing the transformative power of the Holy Spirit in their lives. Pastor Trés is a fourth-generation ordained minister in the Cornerstone Conference of the International Pentecostal Holiness Church (IPHC). He has served on pastoral staff in three local churches in North Carolina from the time he was eighteen years old. Since that time, he has been a frequent youth camp, revival, and camp meeting evangelist as well as choir director and worship leader for many state and national events. He has led mission teams throughout Central and South America and has served in higher education as a ministry team director and assistant professor of Christian Ministries. He has been the IPHC Next Generation representative to the Pentecostal and Charismatic Churches of North America (PCCNA) and a consultant for IPHC Discipleship Ministries. Pastor Trés completed his undergraduate studies at Appalachian State University, the Master of Divinity from Liberty University, and is currently a doctoral candidate for the Ph.D. in Christian Worship at Liberty University. He is an accomplished musician and loves to sing with his family. He is married to his favorite singer and best friend, Rachael. He likes dogs, tolerates cats, enjoys horseback riding, and has recently attempted to improve his golf game. (He now understands the meaning of “7” as the “number of completion,” because that is the average number of shots he takes to get from the tee box to the hole.)

Sharing his heart for the gospel and being sensitive to the individual and corporate needs of the church family, Pastor Barnhill looks forward in faith to the fulfillment of Gods great purpose for the church.
